Mech 3D Modeling Tutorial – WIP 02 Head Refine
I continue the mech design process by refining the procedural concept in zbrush and maya.
Mech Concept Design – 3D Modeling Process in Maya & Zbrush
Started off with a basemesh in zbrush, created some kit pieces in maya and then instanced them on the basemesh geo using MASH. Render was in Redshift with no-UV materials and round corners. This represents rough concept art that can be refined and made more functional looking and less cluttered. Comped in nuke.

Made this in MASH by modeling some simple kit pieces and then instancing them procedurally. Rendered in Redshift with no UVs and using curvature node.
